The training is hosted by Practising Law Institute (PLI) and co-sponsored by the State Bar of California, Public Interest Clearinghouse and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA). The Pro Bono Best Practices and Family Law Working Groups that were formed as a result of the 2008 California Pro Bono Summit developed this domestic violence training to address one of the greatest legal areas of unmet client needs and interest areas for pro bono training. Attorneys who register for this training are asked to sign up with a local legal services program to provide direct pro bono assistance to domestic violence survivors.
