CIVILITY & PROFESSIONALISM --- The Attorney Civility Task Force will hold public hearings on its draft of voluntary civility standards in San Francisco on March 14 and in Los Angeles on March 28.

SEEKING CANDIDATES --- Applications are due April 2 for the five upcoming vacancies on the State Bar Board of Governors and the CYLA Board of Directors.

PRO BONO RECOGNITION --- Guidelines and nomination forms for the State Bar's legal services and diversity awards are available online.

ARANDA AWARD --- May 1 is the deadline to nominate a judge for his or her long-term commitment to access to justice.

ETHICS SYMPOSIUM --- Leading experts in attorney ethics will gather at the 11th Annual Statewide Ethics Symposium in southern California on May 19.

NEW LEGAL SPECIALTY --- For the first time in 12 years, the State Bar has added to its list of bar-certified legal specialties, this time in Franchise and Distribution Law.

DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY
San Bernardino City Attorney's Office - Deputy City Attorney. Salary Range: $6,431-$10,132/Mo. Excellent benefits. PERS retirement expected to increase to 2.7% at 55. A law degree from a recognized law school and membership in the California State Bar required. Applicants must also have a minimum of five years litigation experience in Federal and State Courts. Experience in Torts, Section 1983, Excessive Force cases, and trial experience is preferred.
