The State Bar of California e-briefs

GROUP 1 MCLE DEADLINE --- Members of MCLE compliance group 1, whose last names begin with A - G, are required to meet their continuing education requirement by Feb. 1. Non-compliance will result in a $75 penalty.

e-MAIL DEADLINE --- All California attorneys must provide an e-mail address to the State Bar beginning Feb. 1 under a new rule of court approved by the Supreme Court.

2010 FEES --- Mailing of the 2010 State Bar membership fee statements has been delayed and the Feb. 1 payment deadline will be postponed accordingly. Contact the Member Services Center, 1-888-800-3400 or msc@calbar.ca.gov for questions or more information.

STEPPING DOWN
--- Judy Johnson, the longest-serving executive director in State Bar history, has announced that she plans to resign next year.

GOING DIGITAL --- Beginning March 1, the California Bar Journal will cease publication in paper format and be replaced by an electronic version.
