STATEWIDE ETHICS SYMPOSIUM --- The 12th Annual Statewide Ethics Symposium will be held Saturday, May 3, at the University of San Francisco. This year's theme is "Notoriety - When the spotlight is on ethics." (MCLE credit available.)
DELIVERING SOCIAL JUSTICE ---The 2008 Pathways to Justice Conference, an annual statewide legal services gathering, will be held June 5-7 in Los Angeles. Online registration is available.
WATCH FOR BALLOTS --- Twelve attorneys have announced their candidacy for seats on the 2008-09 State Bar Board of Governors and six more will vie for seats on the CYLA Board of Directors. Ballots will be mailed next week.
CALBAR CONNECT --- A new members-only Web site, CalBar Connect, links attorneys to affinity partners who are offering value-added products to California lawyers.
APRIL COMMENT DEADLINE --- Comments are sought for proposed revisions to rules relating to law schools, proposed revisions to State Bar Sections rules and the governance structure of the California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA).
JUDICIAL HONOR --- Nominations are sought for the Benjamin Aranda Award, honoring a California judge who has improved access to justice for low and moderate-income residents of the state.
FEE ARB IN SLO & SACTO --- Two training sessions for volunteer attorneys who arbitrate attorney-client fee disputes will be offered next month through the Sacramento and San Luis Obispo county bar associations.
