3 DAYS --- Bar dues not postmarked or paid online by Feb. 1 will be considered late and a penalty will attach on Feb. 2.

GROUP 1 MCLE DUE --- Attorneys whose last names begin with letters A-G (Group 1) must submit their MCLE compliance cards online or make sure they are postmarked by Feb. 1 to avoid a $75 late fee.

FRYE v. THC --- Jan. 31 is the deadline to comment on or participate in a State Bar study of nonprofit legal practice in California (Frye v. Tenderloin Housing Clinic Inc.)

NEW DIVERSITY COUNCIL ---Applications are due Feb. 1 for membership on a new council devoted to increasing diversity in the legal profession.

REVISED MCLE RULES --- Feb. 26 is the deadline to comment on a proposal to revise minimum continuing legal education rules for attorneys.

BAR VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES --- Applicants are being sought for numerous positions on State Bar committees and commissions in 2007.
