TUESDAY --- April 1 is the deadline to submit nomination petitions for five seats on the Board of Governors and the CYLA board of directors.

 

APRIL 3 FEE ARB IN LA --- Prospective and current fee arbitrators are invited to a fee arbitrator training on April 3 at the offices of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.  (MCLE credit available.)

 

ACCESS COMMISSION ANNIVERSARY --- A symposium celebrating the 10th anniversary of the California Commission on Access to Justice will be held on April 23, 1-5 p.m., at the Administrative Office of the Courts in San Francisco. (MCLE credit available.)

 

NOTORIETY --- The Annual Statewide Ethics Symposium will be held Saturday, May 3, at the University of San Francisco. This year's theme is  "Notoriety - When the spotlight is on ethics." (MCLE credit available.)

 

BENJAMIN ARANDA AWARD --- Nominations are sought for the Aranda Award, honoring a California judge who has improved access to justice for low and moderate-income residents of the state.

 

PATHWAYS IN JUNE ---The 2008 Pathways to Justice Conference, an annual statewide legal services gathering, will be held June 5-7 in Los Angeles. Online registration is available.

 

AUTUMN IN MONTEREY --- The State Bar's 2008 Annual Meeting will be held September 25-28 in Monterey.

 

COMMENT IN APRIL --- Several proposed revisions to rules affecting the practice law have April deadlines.
